Smart ID tags (scan to contact)
A Smart ID tag is for the “found” moment. If someone has your pet in front of them, they can scan the tag and reach you quickly — no app, no sign-up.
Important: the missing-pet map and sightings work with or without a tag. The tag is a fast shortcut when someone physically has your pet.
Prefer “old school”? You can still use a standard engraved tag, print a flyer, and report sightings normally.

You decide what appears after a scan. We don’t show home addresses anywhere. On the lost-pet map, locations are kept rough to reduce risk and prevent doxxing.
Safe “found pet” tactics (for helpers)
If you find a pet wearing a Smart ID tag, here’s the calm, safe approach.
- • Don’t chase. Stay calm and let them come to you.
- • Use food/water if safe — a calm voice helps.
- • Scan the tag and contact the owner.
- • Share a rough location (park/estate/landmark), not a house address.
- • If you can’t safely hold the pet, stay nearby and keep eyes on until help arrives.
If there’s any risk (traffic, aggression, unsafe situation), contact local animal services or a rescue.
